skin care according to your dosha

INGREDIENTS: the skin is the body's largest organ, it has a myriad of functions, however the skin's over arching role is to protect the entire human organism from the harmful effects of the elements surrounding us.
Feeding on and absorbing up to sixty percent of what we apply to it topically, the skin unfortunately does not have a function to filter or protect us against chemicals and toxins. Everything we apply topically is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, to create material that builds new body tissue.
With this awareness in mind it's wise to think of your beauty products not as cosmetics, but as food for the skin and body.
To function properly as the outer, protective layer of your body, Ayurveda believes skin must be nurtured and respected with nature derived ingredients, which nourish and heal not just the skin, but the entire body.

Ayurveda | Sanskrit
'the science of everyday living'

- Deeper into Doshas -
The doshas - Pitta, Vata, Kapha - provide a framework for understanding how the elements interact with each other to create an ever changing balance within the body.
At the core of all Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment modalities is an understanding of the five maha bhutas or great elements - Space, Air, Fire, Water & Earth.
These five elements were perceived by the ancients as being fundamental building blocks of all things in the universe, five elemental forces which compose and enable that natural world and all living beings to function in harmony.
- Dosha Facts -
We are all born with a particular Prakruti | nature, which means we have a specific and unique dosha balance that is determined at birth.
We all contain a mixture of the three doshas, most of us showing dominant signs of one or two doshas and lesser of the other.
When doshas become aggravated or out of balance, we see specific conditions arising in the individual on physical, mental and emotional levels.
Conditions can show themselves in the main sites of the body where that dosha is more concentrated.

These offerings are derived from taking Rasasara Skinfood products and Ayurvedic information, melding it with my own knowledge of skin and facial treatments, and now there is the sacred ritual facial.
MORE THAN SKIN DEEP
as within the offered holistic massage sessions, all treatments have the intention to create space for you to surrender your external body and begin to turn inwards, to allow your innate wisdom to reconnect into a state that remembers how to heal.
Our external world is often an intricate compilation of our internal worlds and we can discover a lot about our own physically presenting imbalances when we slow down and ask it why.
Part of this process as a practitioner|therapist is syncing with the right tools and products to better facilitate this experience. All products are mindfully chosen to pass on the greatest support and healing to you.
